Despite the blustery weather the folks in the Red Wing area turned out steadily throughout the day.  For those among you who have never visited the Anderson Center, don't hesitate to add one of their many events to your list of places to visit in 2009.   The breadth of art and music (they have a Steinway!) is very impressive.  There is a summer event and another in the fall, in addition to the holiday event in early December...check their calendar at the above link.

To the many visitors who stopped to chat and purchase books, I thank you.  As always, your stories mean so much and I thank you for sharing them.  And hello again to past customers who stopped to wish us a Happy Holiday.

To the gentleman who purchased the Vallkulla series to send to his sister in the Arabian Gulf, I wish the best of fortune.  As he recounted their family's story, I penned a special dedication to his about her grandmother who left her beloved Norway, where she labored as a seter jente (Norwegian for vallkulla) and moved to Minnesota.  I hope reading about the typical life her grandmother probably led will ease his sister's loneliness, over the holidays and bring her closer to her grandmother's memory and her loving family in Minnesota, who also miss her.
