Minneapolis' Ingebretsens Scandinavian Gifts

One of Ingebretsens' employees remarked: "...this is a magical day, the way the customers are coming."

And it was...I think the magic was derived from a number of things: opening day for fishing in Minnesota (the guys were gone), it was Mother's Day weekend and...it was raining.

Well, they came and they came, buying meats, pea and bean soup, nick-nacks, bread, lutefisk, books, romegrot and cheese.  And it was a great day for a book sale/signing.

I heard some wonderful tales from Ingebretsens' customers, ate a free lunch and all the coffee I could drink.  There were even some authors and authors-to-be who stopped by to pick up a book and chat.  Gee...there's a lot of competition out there for your book dollars.

When we were packing up, Ingebretsens said they didn't think they ever had an author sell so many books.  I think they were just being nice; after all, aren't they Scandinavian?

You were right about the day at our house...Al was "up north" and I went shopping. Thanx for taking time to hear my woes about my book and stories. Your encouragement helped make it sound not so impossible, after all.
