Fox Cities Book Festival--Downtown Appleton City Center
This book festival was Appleton's first and I'm certain, not their last.
There were quite a few published authors in evidence, as well as some very quality book illustrators: great art!
And special thanks to Conkeys Bookstore's, Joe Goodfellow, for the tip about the festival...long live the independent booksellers! (Conkeys is the oldest in Wisconsin).
I made some new friends, traded some stories, as usual, the best thing about being an author attending these events, is talking to people.
I even found someone who was longing for the Scandinavian yogart of his childhood: filbunke (the bowl it is kept in) or långfilmjölk (the finished product-long fil). You should have seen his eyes when I offered to send him culture to recreate it in his kitchen. He had to buy a book then, of course (thank you!).
Thanks to Appleton City Center for a great show!
